The way the Telangana (T from here on) leaders (including ladies) have spoken for the last half decade, is not less than that of a rowdy sheeter or gunda speaking in any santha.
I have few comments about the the entire T movement and the leadership which has driven it and, at the end about Madam Gandhi's enthusiasm in the bifurcation.
1) Firstly if the T was so backward, there is not even one leader in that area whose assets have gone down. What are they fighting for? They can't even spend their own assets for the development the area they preach about. And today almost every T leader's standard of living has gone multi fold than it was just about a decade ago.
Are the people of T so blind to notice this?
2) And then they bring this malign notion of "seemandhrite rule". But weren't they involved in those elections when NTR or chandrababu naidu or YSR for that matter are elected? why these differences have grown up only in the recent past. We know that its because of the vested interests of the pro-T parties.
“Who should be the CM” is all about leadership, we don't remember grumbling or cribbing over the rule of PV Narasimha rao before. And many times it was the invisible hand of Delhi which changed the CMs here.
3) The elite of T brought this at one stage, that the seemandhrites bought lands in hyderabad making the locals deprived of the development that took place in the later stages in the history.
I have an interesting storyline to bring in...
There is a place called Ramtek, near Nagpur, from where PV Narasimha rao garu was once an MP. Seeing the fertility of the land, he encouraged few formers from the warrangal and near by areas to come and Farm there. The people whom he brought turned out to be extraordinarily hard working and very skilled entrepreneurs, today if we go to that area we can see name boards in Telugu. That is the caliber they exhibited. very few know about this. Now during this transition there must have been some marathi families who must have sold their lands to these aliens.
I think my point is much clear now for the debate, what answer will the elite of Telangana give to the local marathis who were economically displaced because of these telenganites at their home town?
Is it wrong to purchase the land in free India and develop it?
Then the entire idea of entrepreneurship is wrong.
I think no fool will say it (I'm not sure of T leaders, they tend declare some weird facts about themselves at certain occasions).
If the telengana elite's point is that of their lands being grabbed or illegitimately held then they should ask for better "Law and order" in the area, not for a separate state. In new state they'll be living with the real jackles who grab land.
Taliban seems to be upset with pak media as it is praising Indian Sachin Tendulkar. So is the case in Telangana, where people gheroved a principal in a college, bcoz he is from chittoor and he was n't allowed to take the charge. Both Taliban and Telanganites have something in common..."Don't see the virtue in others, see the origin".
4) If any one wants to know what kind of governance Telangana had during the Nizam rule, then the simplest way is to read "Chillara Devullu" novel by Sri Dasaradhi Rangacharya. No outsider ruined Telangana, its own deshmukhs and village heads ruined it.
So-is-the-case that continued after the independence. If the local leadership was good enough they could have easily developed the area. But no, they had their own agendas.
Now the saddest part is that the people of Telangana intentionally ignored the real causes and started believing that Seemandhrites are the cause for the backwardness. Really so sad. It is well said in a proverb "గొర్రె కసాయి వాణ్ణే నమ్ముతుంది ".
And not very surprising, that KCR at one occassion praised Nizam's rule against the independent Indian rule. So we all can very well take a guess what kind of governance is going to be.
5) Another interesting point, settler concept and that to in Hyd. T.leaders seemed to be embracing them with out any problem (except in the govt employees case). And even more surprisingly some settlers started to turn to pro-T.
Its a very peculiar move, first you criticise people that they ruined your chances and embrace them later.
But tell me how many semmandhrites of the 6 crores, you think have assets in Hyd. I don't think you can give a decent whole number in %. But can you deny the fact that all these 5 or 6 crore people have paid their taxes which eventually developed Hyd? Embracing the seemandhra settlers in hyd is not enough, you should embrace all the seemandhrites, because with their money (also) your city has developed.
If you can't agree on this point then you are nothing but a thief, if you agree then there is no question of partition.
6) It hits me to the core when I see the apathy of the movie industry, as if nothing is happening to them. And most of them are from the so called "Andhra Seema" and none has guts to question the ill decision. After getting the money, publicity and above all the affection of the people from the whole state, doesn't it really make them feel anything about it? In THIS regard Sr.NTR is matchless and the rest all are useless.
7) I wonder after forming the state T, will they not ask for investors to come and invest? If they do, will they entertain investments from the Andhra seema? If they do then why do we need the partition then? ... o o is it for the commissions? I'm sorry totally slipped of mind, my mistake.
8) The most pitiable party in the entire country is congress party. Its really sad that they have such long history to brag about and sadly many of them don't even know the history. Such a sad state.
If you are from T Congress and don't want to touch the history which corners you, you may ignore it. But strangest part is its central body it self passing comments which strip off the dignity of their leaders. One of them said "we brought solution for the 60 year old problem".
Just want to dig a bit, if this was THE solution, why did Pt. Nehru, Mrs Indira Gandhi and Mr. Rajiv did not do this? Thats a very big question for which Congress HAS TO GIVE AN ANSWER.
How come there can be 2 options for the same problem from the same party? What changed in between? Nothing but your vote bank!!!!
Let the public know on what basis the decisions were different before you are formally buried in the state.
Thats at least a dignified way of leaving a legacy of more than 40 yrs of power in a state, which consistently believed in the Congress only to be back stabbed for its loyalty. Show some courtesy to your own CM whose points are not addressed.
9) People say Water issues can be resolved in the tribunals, but its to be noted that it can happen only with those who are of gentle enough to listen to others also. From the experience of the past 1 decade, it is proven that T leaders don't know how to respect the people who don't share their opinion. Look at the language. Does the people of T endorse the language used by their leaders?
10) What is "Telangana" after all? Its just a part in AP which speaks a dialect of Telugu. There is no authenticity or any recognition from the history to the dialect. Its just like any other accent of Telugu. Strangely some people gave enormous importance to the slang and started differentiation. If you forget the classical telugu usage and want to use only a slang... well, thats up to you, nothing bad or good about it. But you want to attribute importance which is not there for it, thats a problem. What cultural or historical evidence can be shown for Telangana yasa?
Many leaders of T may not even know that "Bommera Pothana" is from Warrnagal. O they may even ask who is he? Great... he is the one who translated Bhagavatham in ekasilanagaram. Well, churn that book and bring where he endorsed the slang of Telangana? Not even one poem or line you'll find. Here is a finest poet who wrote a classic in Telugu language not using the T slang. I'm not belittling the slang. I'm only driving you a point that, it was nothing in the earlier days and we co existed. Why can't that happen now? Its AFTER ALL A SLANG, nothing special.
For that you made hue and cry that villains and comedians are only given such slang. Well, why don't go and ask the Film industry? Now why can't your directors and actors act in that slang with out any నామోషీ. and it is welcome. I don't think slang will determine a movie to be hit or fut.
11) Maharashtra assembly sent a resolution asking for bifurcation of Vidarbha 12 years ago. Nothing moved on that. Congress party says it can't help because there is no unanimity among the political circles about that. Then how this party preparing to bulldoze the Andhra Seema people?
What kind of precedent are they setting for the other states? People won't hesitate to demand anything.
12) Finally Madam Sonia Gandhi, I've nothing much to speak about, except that she is a pious and modest lady, who kind of HAD to accept the responsibility of the party. Its a known fact.
But after ACCEPTING it, there can't be excuses in making decisions. She should be held as THE responsible authority who in her capacity not tried to stop this nonsense to happen.
The decision to bifurcate AP is the darkest decision I believe she has taken. This is going to have a very long impact on the Federation of States of India. Why should the people of rest of AP be interested in the governing policies when their hard work is not just respected, but stolen.
Having said that I won't endorse the thought that the "English divided then", and "Italian dividing now". Getting divided is entirely our problem for which WE have to fetch answers. No outsider can do anything if we don't want to get divided.
Following is a statement with anguish. I wish it won't come true.
If this bifurcation happens, then I don't think INDIAN UNION will have as longevity as the US has. Already we are facing many separatist demands and if the decisions are taken on votebank politics and elections, I'm sure we can see splits all over.......and it may result in ugly civilian wars for the natural resources.
People may even say "We were not a single nation in the past, why should we stick together NOW."
The political fraternity will not have an answer if it doesn't act impartially now.
I pray to the people of Telangana to wake up at least now and reprimand the leaders for the backwardness, but not to divide this wonderful state. Otherwise I'm sure you will regret the decision. If people of T don't voice against the partition atleast now, then I'm convinced that they deserve such pathetic leadership and suffer further.
May the almighty give good thoughts to all of us and make us act in a manner befitting the spirit of our great nation.
